CHILE & ARGENTINA - Active Patagonia with 4x4 expedition
This SAT Outdoor Sample is designed for outdoor and trekking enthusiasts who want to explore the untamed beauty of Patagonia in a different way. The tour includes a 4x4 expedition from/to Puerto Natales, traversing winding roads and camping under the stars in a Suzuki Jimny 4x4 with a roof tent from the renowned Tribu brand.
The adventure begins in Santiago de Chile with a bike tour of the capital's diverse neighbourhoods and markets. Fly south to Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park. On arrival, enjoy a briefing, welcome dinner and settle into your cosy hotel, ready to kick off the expedition. Rise early for a trek to Base de las Torres. Navigate streams, forests and steep moraines to get up close to the majestic granite towers of Torres del Paine. After an exhilarating day, return to Pehoe Lake for dinner and rest in your comfortable tent. The next day, sail across Pehoe Lake to the Paine Grande Refuge, then trek into the breathtaking French Valley. Marvel at the towering peaks, French Glacier and shimmering lakes below. Return to the camp for a sunset dinner. After another night under the stars, visit Grey Lake, where a catamaran cruise reveals the towering Grey Glacier. Explore the Milodon Cave, rich in palaeontological history. Back in Puerto Natales, say goodbye to the rest of the expedition and take the public bus across the border to El Calafate, Argentina. Join a combined boat and trekking tour to witness the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier. Watch massive shards of ice crash into the turquoise waters in a spectacle you'll never forget. Take a scenic bus ride to El Chaltén, Patagonia's hiking mecca. Spend your days hiking the region at your own pace. The trek to Laguna De Los Tres at the base of Fitz Roy offers unparalleled views of the iconic peaks, while the Cerro Torre trail is renowned for its views of Monte Torre, its glacier and lagoon. After these active days, take the bus back to El Calafate to catch your return flight to Santiago. Alternatively, fly to Buenos Aires and continue your programme in the Argentine capital.

Please note: The 4x4 expedition is offered on a group basis with fixed departures and a bilingual guide and assistant. It includes 2 nights in a hotel in Puerto Natales and 2 nights in a roof tent on the vehicle (Recommended capacity: 2 people per vehicle). The tour is also available in self-drive mode with a minimum of 2 nights.

PERU - Outdoor Adventure in the Land of the Incas

This 12-day active tour with scenic hikes along the original Inca Trail takes you deep into the heart of the ancient Inca Empire and offers a perfect blend of culture, exciting outdoor activities and awe-inspiring nature.
Start in Lima, where you'll explore the city on foot and by bike. Then fly to Cusco, the gateway to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. En route, visit the charming town of Chinchero, known for its impressive Inca walls and lively Sunday market. Take a 2 hour hike along the old Inca Trail and reward yourself with a delicious lunch at the Tunupa Restaurant. Continue your Sacred Valley adventure with outdoor activities tailored to your interests. Choose from mountain biking through the Andean landscape from Pisac to Calca, an immersive cultural experience with the Huilloc community, or an exhilarating rafting tour on the Ollantaytambo River. The next day is a panoramic hike that takes you off the beaten track to Huchuyqosqo. Pass through small communities nestled in the mountains, walk along ancient terraces that are still cultivated today and discover the hidden myths of Andean culture. Following an original section of the Inca Trail through beautiful green valleys and the impressive Puma Punku Canyon you arrive at Huchuyqosqo, an isolated and mysterious Inca citadel at 3,600m/11,811 ft overlooking the valley. Your journey culminates with the 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (shared basis). Board a train to km 104 and begin your trek through breathtaking mountain scenery. Discover Wiñaywayna, probably one of the most beautiful ancient citadels on the trail. Finally arrive at Intipunku, the Sun Gate, for your first glimpse of Machu Picchu. Descend to Aguas Calientes and after a restful night, return to the citadel the next morning for a guided tour of Machu Picchu. Back in Cusco, discover the city's rich history and culture on an interesting walking tour. Set off on a full day challenging yet rewarding hiking tour to the iconic Rainbow Mountain.  At 5,200m / 17,100ft, marvel at the vibrant colours of Vinicunca and the majestic Ausangate range. Then take a scenic train or bus ride from Cusco through the Andean highlands to Puno. Explore Lake Titicaca by kayak and cross to Taquile Island, where you'll enjoy a traditional lunch and learn about the islanders' unique traditions and communal way of life. From Juliaca airport, take your return flight to Lima or extend your adventure with a 3-day excursion to the breathtaking Colca Canyon, adding another layer of wonder to your Peruvian adventure.

ARGENTINA - Active Days in Córdoba
This new travel idea invites you to explore Córdoba, a city often overlooked yet full of charm and history. Argentina's second largest city combines well-preserved colonial architecture with a vibrant, youthful energy driven by its dynamic student population. Set amidst vast pampas and dramatic mountain ranges, Córdoba also offers exciting outdoor adventures and remarkable 17th-century Jesuit ruins to explore nearby.
After arriving in Buenos Aires and exploring the city's vibrant neighbourhoods by bike, fly to Córdoba and enjoy an orientation tour of this historic city. Wander through the UNESCO World Heritage Jesuit Quarter and step back in time as you visit landmarks such as the University of Córdoba, the Montserrat School and the Compañía de Jesús Church. Spend the next day hiking in the Quebrada del Condorito National Park, located in the stunning Pampa de Achala. The 2-hour trek takes you to a stunning viewpoint overlooking the 700m deep canyon, where you may catch a glimpse of the majestic Andean Condor soaring above. Continue your adventure with a full day of horse riding in the Sierra Chica. Start with a 2-hour ride through the scenic countryside, followed by a traditional Argentine "asado" barbecue lunch at a local ranch. No visit to Córdoba would be complete without a trip to the nearby UNESCO-listed Jesuit Estancias of Colonia Caroya and Jesús María. Discover the rich Jesuit heritage through their 17th-century architecture and learn how the Jesuits helped shape Cordoba's cultural and social fabric. The following day is a full day trek in the Los Gigantes region. This challenging tour through the northern Pampa de Achala Reserve reveals dramatic rock formations such as 'El Pollito' and 'Cerro Los Mogotes'. Along the way, learn about local reforestation efforts and the importance of conservation in this unique ecosystem. Complete your trip with a visit to the Cerro Colorado Nature Reserve, one of Argentina's most significant archaeological sites. Hike through red sandstone caves once inhabited by the indigenous Comechingones and Sanavirones and discover ancient rock art that offers a glimpse into the region's pre-Columbian history. After exciting days in the serene landscapes of Córdoba, return to Buenos Aires or continue on to other exciting destinations in Argentina.

URUGUAY - A Blend of Nature, Culture & Coastal Adventure

This 8-day adventure-packed sample itinerary combines Uruguay's charming capital city, pristine beaches and wild landscapes.
After arriving in Uruguay's vibrant capital, hop on a bike for an exciting city tour that winds through the colonial heart of Montevideo. Ride through the Palermo neighbourhood and along the coast, stopping at the Punta Carretas lighthouse and Castillo Pittamiglio. The next day, travel to the province of San Jose and visit Estancia Finca Piedra, a beautiful place at the foot of the Sierras de Mahoma. Explore the countryside on horseback or on an exhilarating mountain bike ride, followed by a traditional lunch at the estancia. You will also be introduced to the mate culture - a very social tradition of the country. Back in Montevideo, take a public bus to the coast of Punta del Este, often referred to as the 'Pearl of the Atlantic'. Explore the city on a scenic bike ride, visiting highlights such as the old lighthouse, Candelaria Church and Brava Beach. Snap a photo of the famous 'La Mano' sculpture and cruise through elegant neighbourhoods like San Rafael. Spend the next few days soaking up the city's charm at your own pace. Visit the Ralli Museum, with works by major Latin American artists, or marvel at Casapueblo, the iconic whitewashed house turned museum by artist Carlos Páez Vilaró, dramatically perched on a cliff overlooking the sea. Rise early to drive to the small village of Valizas for a breathtaking trek across vast sandy dunes to the remote fishing village of Cabo Polonio. This wild and unspoilt area is home to one of the largest colonies of sea lions in South America. After a rewarding 4 hour hike, enjoy lunch and explore the dunes by 4WD before returning to Punta del Este. Back in Montevideo, take a final stroll along the waterfront and say goodbye to Uruguay. Transfer to the airport for your flight home or continue your journey with an optional extension.

ECUADOR - A Journey through Culture and Nature
This 12-day exploration offers a harmonious balance of culture, nature and authentic local experiences, promising a true taste of Ecuador's diverse heritage and scenery.
Start your adventure in Quito and enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic city centre, rounded off with a chocolate tasting where you'll learn about Ecuador's famous cacao. Leaving Quito behind, you'll stand in both hemispheres at the Equatorial Line Monument and learn about ancient traditions at the Inti-ñan Museum. A scenic drive takes you to Mindo, home to a rich biodiversity and a serene retreat into nature. Take the cable car across the canyon in the middle of the lush cloud forest and begin a tranquil walk to beautiful waterfalls. Visit a hummingbird sanctuary in the Chocó Andino ecosystem and see colourful butterflies and exotic hummingbirds. Continue through picturesque valleys to Otavalo, with stunning views of San Pablo Lake and Imbabura Volcano in the background. In Otavalo, explore the famous Otavalo Market, a hub for traditional textiles and handicrafts. Later, join a Kichwa family for an immersive cooking experience, learning to prepare Andean dishes and exploring medicinal plants. Continue to the village of Peguche, where a beautiful trail through the eucalyptus forest leads to the 18m high Peguche Waterfall. This place is an indigenous ceremonial centre for cleansing baths at the beginning of Inti Raymi, the Festival of the Sun and Cultures. Spend the next day hiking in the El Ángel Reserve and discover its unique flora, including the endemic Frailejón plant. Visit the Voladero Lagoons, two beautiful glacial lakes at 3,800m, before heading to the village of San Antonio de Ibarra, famous for its intricate woodwork. Travel south along the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Stop at Cuicocha Lagoon, a crater lake with breathtaking scenery, and visit a rose plantation to see how Ecuador's world-famous roses are grown. A guided hike in Cotopaxi National Park offers panoramic views of the towering volcano and an insight into the unique páramo ecosystem. Next, visit the Antisana Nature Reserve, a haven for endemic flora and fauna. Arrive at your final destination, the Termas de Papallacta and relax in the therapeutic thermal baths or take a leisurely hike in the surrounding mountains. This tranquil day is perfect for relaxing and reflecting on your journey before returning to Quito.

BRAZIL - Scenic Hikes from the Costa Verde to Rio
This new SAT Outdoor Sample promises spectacular hikes against the backdrop of the stunning Costa Verde and the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro.
On arrival in São Paulo, your driver will be waiting to take you to the colonial city of Paraty. Today's route may be long, but it is one of the most beautiful routes in Brazil. Enjoy the scenery of the many beaches, bays, islands and coastal mountains. Explore Paraty's UNESCO-listed historic centre, where cobbled streets, charming colonial architecture and lush surroundings take you back in time. The outdoor adventure really begins with a day hike to Ponta Negra, one of the region's most remote and breathtaking beaches. Trek through the Atlantic rainforest, surrounded by dramatic mountains, exotic wildlife and cascading waterfalls, before reaching this secluded paradise. Relax on the pristine sands and swim in the crystal clear waters before returning to Paraty by boat. Your next destination is Mamanguá National Park, a hidden gem nestled in the Atlantic rainforest. Start with an exhilarating speedboat ride across the bay, then hike through lush trails to Mamanguá Peak.
