ARGENTINA - Wildlife encounters in the Iberá Wetlands

Explore the wonders of Argentina's Iberá Wetlands, the second-largest freshwater wetland in South America. Home to a diverse flora and fauna, including over 300 species of birds, 85 mammals, 45 amphibians and 35 reptiles, this region boasts captivating landscapes ranging from lagoons and floating islands (reservoirs) over swamps and marsh to forests and savannah.
Embark on an adventure at Aguape Lodge on the shores of the Iberá Lagoon. CHILE - Road Trip along the Southern Carretera Austral
Experience endless outdoor adventure on a road trip along the Southern Carretera Austral in Chilean Patagonia. Enjoy quality time with friends and family and travel at your own pace and interests.
Start your 9-day self-drive tour from Balmaceda Airport and head north to Coyhaique. Drive to Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez, passing through Cerro Castillo National Park, with stunning views from the top of its namesake peak. Take the car ferry to Chile Chico. Continue south to Puerto Río Tranquilo enjoying the scenic route along the Río Baker, one of Chile's largest rivers. Take a guided tour to the Exploradores Glacier, located on the northeastern slope of Monte San Valentín. Visitors can hike or take a boat trip to get up close to the glacier's towering ice walls. From Chile Chico, head north towards Cochrane, stopping at the Tamango Nature Reserve for hiking and wildlife spotting. Continue along Lake General Carrera to Puerto Guadal, and explore the Marble Caves by boat. Enjoy the scenic drive to Cochrane before arriving in Caleta Tortel, a coastal village with charming stilted houses and picturesque cypress walkways, surrounded by fjords and mountains. Take the car ferry from Puerto Yungay to Villa O'Higgins and explore the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, one of the largest ice fields outside Antarctica. As the southern terminus of the Carretera Austral, Villa O'Higgins marks the end of the iconic highway, which stretches over 1,200km through some of Chile's most remote and rugged terrain. After this bucket-list achievement, you can either return to Balmaceda airport or continue north along the Carretera Austral.

PERU - Outdoor activities in the Andean highlands

The Colca Canyon, about 165 kilometres northwest of Arequipa, is one of the deepest canyons in the world. Breathtaking scenery, reaching almost 5,000 metres above sea level, colonial villages, hot springs and the famous viewpoint "Cruz del Condor" await you. The newly opened Hotel Puerta del Sol welcomes guests with 33 spacious rooms and suites decorated in colonial style with Inca décor. Guests can enjoy short hikes in the surrounding area or relax in the thermal pools, jacuzzis and saunas.
In the heart of the Sacred Valley (Ollantaytambo) lies Las Qolqas Eco Lodge, a sanctuary offering accommodation in luxurious safari tents. In addition to double tents, families can find comfort in spacious family tents that sleep up to 4 guests, or group tents that sleep up to 8 people on two floors. A variety of trekking options are available, including a one or two-day trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, bike tours, cultural experiences and Andean ceremonies, or traditional cooking classes.
En route to the Sacred Valley, a visit to Manos de la Comunidad is a must. This organisation, dedicated to the conservation of South American camelids and the processing of their wool, offers a delightful encounter with llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos - a highlight for visitors of all ages.

ECUADOR - Nature meets culture on the Pacific coast
Ecuador's Pacific coast remains a hidden gem where nature and culture come together. Nestled at the convergence of 4 distinct ecosystems - coastal, mangrove, tropical dry forest and the humid forest of the Garúa foothills - the region teems with biodiversity. The diverse topography is reflected in the cuisine, with Manabi Province renowned for its fresh fish, crabs, plantains, manioc, peanuts, lemons and coconuts. Explore local communities and discover the fascinating legacy of the Valdivian culture, one of the oldest in the Americas. Some of Ecuador's most beautiful beaches complete the experience.
Tanusas is a secluded beachfront resort in Puerto Cayo, a one-hour drive from Manta and a 3-hour drive from Guayaquil. In addition to the main house, the property offers villas of various sizes for up to 8 people with a private pool and lounge area, some with ocean views and direct access to the beach.
Guests can enjoy surfing lessons, snorkelling, diving or a boat trip to Isla de la Plata, a birdwatching paradise known as the Little Galapagos. Humpback whales can be seen between June and September. Within the Machalilla National Park lies Los Frailes Beach, one of Ecuador's most famous beaches. Back at Tanusas, guests can take part in culinary events and end the day with a bonfire or a private dinner with friends on the beach.

URUGUAY - Beach holidays in José Ignacio

José Ignacio, once a small fishing village, has transformed itself into a chic beach town while retaining its original charm. Just 40 kilometres from Punta del Este, the village boasts some of Uruguay's finest beaches, boutique hotels and excellent restaurants.

BRAZIL - 4x4 Adventure on the Route of Emotions
Embark on a fascinating journey through the Northeast of Brazil along the Route of Emotions, starting from either Fortaleza or São Luiz. The 4x4 adventure along the extensive coastline promises unforgettable experiences for nature enthusiasts, active families and groups of friends alike.
Start your journey from Fortaleza to the popular Jericoacoara National Park. Explore the charming village of Jeri, with its sandy streets, kitesurfers and stunning sunsets from the dunes. Explore the nearby blue lagoons, Buraco Azul and Lagoa de Paraíso, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Jeri's beachfront. Head west, crossing rivers to visit mangrove forests and pristine lagoons before settling in Camocim. From Parnaíba take a speedboat tour of the Parnaíba River delta, stopping for dune walks and spectacular sunset birdwatching as countless reddish birds (guarás) return to the mangrove forest for the night. Continue to Atins, a picturesque village offering a range of activities including horse riding, kite surfing and fishing. From here, explore the stunning landscapes of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, with its vast white sand dunes and crystalline lagoons. Embark on a speedboat adventure on the Preguiças River, stopping at the Mandacaru Lighthouse before exploring the golden dunes of Small Lençóis, the mangrove forest and tranquil lagoons near Barreirinhas, ending the day in Santo Amaro. Explore the beautiful surroundings and lagoons of Santo Amaro before heading to São Luiz, the capital of Maranhao. Finish your journey in the colonial UNESCO-listed old town and indulge in local culinary delights.

COLOMBIA - Family adventures in colonial splendour
Pack your family or friends and explore Colombia's rich heritage on this land-based itinerary through colonial towns and charming boutique hotels that will take you back in time. Start with a visit to Bogotá's vibrant food market, where you can wander the colourful stalls and sample delicacies such as tamal, lechona and pan de bono con avena. Dive into the historic district of La Candelaria for street food and a mix of colonial architecture and modern art. Take a cable car up Monserrate Hill for breathtaking views of the city, or join the bustling Sunday morning ciclovía to explore different neighbourhoods by bike. Next, head to Zipaquirá for an underground adventure at the Salt Cathedral, where children can play miners on a special tour. Continue to Villa de Leyva, a picturesque town frozen in time with its cobbled streets, wooden balconies and whitewashed buildings. Explore local attractions such as Casa Terracotta and nearby wineries or take part in outdoor activities such as hiking, abseiling, canyoning and cycling. Explore the enchanting town of Barichara, one of Colombia's most beautiful colonial towns with charming restaurants, art galleries and craft studios. Take an 8km scenic hike along an ancient colonial trail to the village of Guane, with stunning views of the Andean landscape and a visit to the Guane Palaeontological Museum. Finish your trip with a cable car ride through Chicamocha Canyon for breathtaking views. Your last night in Bucaramanga is a time to reflect on your adventure before returning to Bogotá or continuing your exploration of Colombia.

FLIGHT NEWS SOUTH AMERICA
New Peru-Ecuador flights
The low-cost airline JetSmart starts direct flights between Quito and Lima on March 6th and between Guayaquil and Lima on April 2nd. Each route will be served 3 times a week.
New Dubai-Bogotá route
Emirates Airlines arrives in Colombia with the launch of a daily flight connecting Dubai and Bogotá, with a convenient stopover in Miami, starting on June 3rd.
Restart Madrid-Recife route
Air Europa confirms the resumption of direct flights between Recife and Madrid, which were suspended in 2019. There will be 2 flights a week from June 21st.
