All the best,

ARGENTINA - WINES, NATIVE COMMUNITIES & HORSEBACK RIDING IN MENDOZA
Mendoza is well worth an extended stay - especially when considering some of our activities in the region. It only starts with the wine: Lead by insider guides, you will visit world-class vineyards and experience different ways of wine making. Then there is a visit to the Huarpe community of La Asunción, where you`ll learn about the native culture of the region. Have lunch with a local family and take a hike through the nearby dunes of the Lavalle Desert. Those who want to be part of an interesting cultural exchange can participate in a small workshop of loom and leather crafts. A special treat is our horseback riding adventure with Baqueanos (Gauchos of the mountains) along the trails of La Quebrada del Cóndor in Potrerillos. You are introduced to their way of saddling a horse and riding through this terrain. While enjoying sopaipillas and mate, they will show off some of their skills. During the day you get to know the flora, fauna, geology, traditions, gastronomy and history of the region. Intrigued? Contact us
PERU - PERUVIAN CACAO AND THE WORLD'S BEST CHOCOLATE
Chocolate is considered a magical treat by many. With the rise of artisan chocolate makers, cacao and chocolate are taken to a new level. Peru is the world's largest organic cacao producer and just recently won the first price at the „Salón del Chocolate“ in London. In Peru, cacao and chocolate have been around for thousands of years. The Incas knew that cacao offers important health benefits and even considered it a medicinal product. The Peruvian Amazon offers perfect conditions to grow this delicacy. SAT brings you to the source of indulgence - contact us
SAT RECOMMENDATION: A VISIT TO THE PLANETARIUM OF CUSCO, PERU
The Planetarium of Cusco is probably one of the most original ones in the world: a cultural interpretation center of Incan astronomy, a planetarium of Southern skies and an amateur observatory, surrounded by an incredible natural environment. During this special SAT excursion you will learn about ancient views of the Incan Empire on the universe. A workshop on star constellations is given, that will prepare you for a unique stargazing session. Please  contact us for further information!
ECUADOR - PIKAIA LODGE: LUXURY ECO TOURISM AT THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS
The Galapagos Islands are one of the most ecologically diverse hotspots on the planet. A focus on environmental sustainability is fundamental to keep this remote and eco-sensitive location alive. In this context,  SAT would like to recommend a land-based stay at Pikaia Lodge. The eco-luxury lodge was designed to use the sun efficiently, both for natural illumination and for solar photovoltaic energy production. It is carbon neutral, has its own endemic trees reforestation program and a modern aerobic waste water treatment plant. The Pikaia Lodge concept is designed for the environmentally conscious and active traveler, who seeks close contact with the unique natural wonders of the Galapagos. It extraordinarily combines luxury with sustainable tourism management. For more information, please  contact us
CRUISING THE GALAPAGOS IN STYLE
After approx. two months of a massive renovation, the Galapagos Sea Star Journey is now again cruising the Galapagos Islands. Balconies have been added to the main deck cabins, all bathrooms have been renewed, wooden floors have been installed and the whole ship now features a new décor with minimalist and elegant design. And yet another ship is waiting to be launched in a few months: the Galapagos Endemic will be one of the most modern and luxurious ships in the archipelago. The luxury catamaran will feature 9 modern and spacious cabins with balcony, a sun terrace / observation platform, and top naturalist guides. Contact us for more information!
CHILE - DESTINATION OF THE YEAR 2018
Lonely Planet selected Chile as the top world destination you should visit next year. Well, we agree. Slowly, this country has become a most desirable tourism destination. Why? Because it is packed with unique ecosystems, biodiversity, awe-inspiring landscapes and topographies. It has 36 national parks, some of the most extreme environments on Earth, from deserts to fjords to subpolar islands, and best of all - it has the necessary infrastructure to make these accessible. The capital Santiago is awash with new boutique hotels and fine dining, the Atacama Desert is a magical place for its salt lakes, geysers and starlit skies, and of course there is Patagonia, with its breathtaking glaciers, forests and lakes. We'll take you there, just  contact us

HIDDEN COLOMBIA - DISCOVER THE SERRANÍA DEL CHIRIBIQUETE NATIONAL PARK
Colombia is home to 51 national parks, which vary from coral reefs, deserts, Amazon rainforest, páramos, the Andes mountain ranges and indigenous protected lands. One of them is considered being one of the most-unexplored places in the world: The Chiribiquete National Park is located in the isolated Amazon region of Colombia. Its table mountains provide the perfect habitat for a large number of different species, and the area is home to several indiginous tribes. The Chiribiquete National Park preserves and protects Colombia’s indigenous natives and allows us to study their past; it is home to over 600,000 traces of early petroglyphs, pictographs and 20,000 whole art pieces. The access to the park is strictly controlled - the only way to catch a glimpse is to book one of the few overflights of the area. Contact us for more information!
URUGUAY - A HYMN TO TANGO, WINE AND CARNAVAL!
Uruguay still is one of South America's most inviting secrets. It enchants with cultural, scenic and culinary charms: Montevideo has been granted the UNESCO title of intangible cultural heritage for holding the roots of tango, and is a wonderful place for tango lovers. Uruguay also offers the longest Carnaval of South America, lasting a full 40 days. Join the Desfile de las Llamadas – an all night long parade accompanied by the drumming of candombe, an instrument brought to Uruguay by African slaves in the 18th century. Or  go and support your team of choice at a local “futból” match! Try some Tannat in the wine region between Canelones and San José, visit picturesque Colonia del Sacramento and do not miss on a real Uruguayan style asado. Relax at the country's beaches, hike along the sand dunes of Punta del Diablo, hide away at an estancia and drink mate with the gauchos! Curious? Contact us
MEET THE SAT TEAM: MARIA LUCAS, SAT CHILE
Maria has always been excited about travelling! In her early childhood she was lucky enough to explore near and faraway places together with her adventurous mom - and later on she just never stopped being passionate about discovering the world. It was Brazil that finally made her completely fall in love with South America - she still carries around some most precious memories of the country's culture, its music and its extremely laid-back people! Maria started working with our SAT Chile team in 2016 and since then used the opportunity to further explore Chile's diverse landscapes and hidden corners. She is most stunned by the country's people that live in far-flung places, e.g. in the mountains at more than 4,000 m, in the driest places of the Atacama Desert, or in the remote areas of Patagonia. She just recently visited the Easter Island, yet another iconic place! For travel recommendations across Chile and South America, don't hesitate to contact Maria!
