COLOMBIA's CULINARY CAPITAL: CARTAGENA DE LAS INDIAS
Cartagena celebrates food gluttony. The city's crown culinary jewels naturally gravitate towards the sea, with fresh fish and seafood forming the nuts and bolts of most menus. Colombia is also considered one of the world's richest countries in bio-diversity, which explains all those ripe fruit stands, fresh fish venders and street food stoops causing all that tasty food traffic. There are plenty of options to include very special culinary treats during your stay, be it a chocolate workshop, a secret supper with top local chefs, a traditional Colombian cooking class, a visit to the local market to check out the food stalls, or a ceviche tour! SAT will be happy to organise your perfect foodie trip to Cartagena and Colombia - just contact us!
THE WHITES OF THE PUNA: THE GREAT SALT FIELDS OF ARGENTINA
The Salinas Grandes comprise one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Argentinean Puna. At 3450 meters above sea level, the blue of the sky merges with the shiny white of the salt fields. The saltpeter soil draws perfect hexagons. The turquoise blue pools turn into an incredible oasis. The ever-changing light invites visitors to play with their cameras. 10,000 years ago, this site was a sweet waters lake, swampy and with large vegetation. Today, it is a salt mirror covering more than 212 sq. km. SAT creates expert journeys to Northern Argentina, exploring remote areas around Salta and Jujuy, setting foot on the great salt fields. SAT welcomes you to travel the Brazilian Amazon with elegance and style, sharing Cécile's and Elias' passion for the rainforest. Experience absolute relaxation, surprising excursions and astonishing encounters. The houseboat features 3 private cabins, a living area and a sundeck. THE STREETS OF MONTEVIDEO: AN ANTIQUE SHOPPER's DREAM
Montevideo is defined by a sense of timelessness: neoclassical and Art Nouveau architecture, leafy plazas, and riverside promenades, all of which call to mind bygone eras when people took the time to slow down. The city's streets are dotted with cafes, bookstores, and a large collection of antique stores. Auction houses like Bavastro or Castells are packed with fine vintage treasures. Montevideo also features a popular flea market on Tristán Narvaja Street, where every Sunday morning visitors may find first-edition books, 1900s Leicas and other hidden gems.
